The second hand ladys watches are very hard to move because the Ladys don't like used jewlery. Be careful with that. I will buy a new JLC, Omega, Vacheron, instead of a used Rolex for a lady. Must be more easy to found a Lady DJ.

I too have my wifes 50th approaching and had some ideas for a watch. Was thinking birth year etc. (Minefield with 2nd hand watches/jewellery with some ladies as mention in a previous post)
Anyway had my daughter do some pointing out stuff at the Rolex AD when they were out shopping. Then daughter sneaky photographed the one she liked the most. My choice was way off the mark. In regards the watch set up, model choice was correct in a Ladies TT DJ. I was thinking Jubilee bracelet, but she picked the oyster. My choice of dial colour was way out, along with the dial layout. See if you can try my type of approach. Allows you to get the watch they actually want. |

I wouldn’t be looking at a steel sports watch and probably not vintage either. YG, WG or PT would be nice for a 50th and something a bit more modern would see her out with no troubles.
DD36 would be my go to choice. Circa 20K pre-owned. A Daytona or Skydweller if she likes large watches. An RG YM perhaps? A bit of window shopping first and gauge her opinions.. |
