my tt sub is poorly
went to my ad today and asked him about adjusting my sub because it has gained a minute a day for the last 3 days and also last night the date stuck again
he held the bracelet and moved the watch side to side and there was a pretty loud rattleing he thinks something has come adrift on the rotor so far thats 2 new rolex's bought around christmas that have had to go back for work ie: the dytona with the broken clasp and my sub with the rattle before anyone starts jumping about saying rolex are not as good as they used to be blah blah etc etc the guy in the ad did say he has not had any back for ages and they are few and far between but it does of course happen and my 2 are the only 2 he has seen recently he has no reason to lie to me and has even offered me the full money paid for my sub back if i want to trade or swap up/down the range etc which i dont want to do . . . . . . . well i do like the TT daytona . . . . . no no no no i must resist temptation and wait for my chosen to return |

Sometimes its just the luck of the draw. That is the kind of luck I have. Something will happen and i will be told "wow, I have never seen this" or "I haven't seen this problem in years..." This always happens to me with watches or whatever...doesnt seem to matter. Hopefully I have better luck when I pick up my new Sub!

This problem happened to me too a few times but with much older-well used-watches.

If your AD is offering an exchange I would jump on that, most AD's would not do this.

I'm with Scott. Take the exchange. Too early to be having rotor problems, what's next?

I have yet to see anything mechanical be foolproof, whether it's watches or anything else. The reason there are thousands of watchmakers around the world is because watches fail and need fixin'. Two in a row is tough and the sub will be repaired to its original glory. I'll be interested to know exactly what went wrong with it, though. Keep us posted.

it has been discussed extensively before
the rattling comes from the springbar that holds the bracelet in place it is very common in subs if you remove the bracelet it will go away your watch has no problem

this is why i took it into the shop and he said it was a rattle inside the watch there is also the point that it has gained around a minute a day for the last 3 days the daytona was my boss's business partner's watch my boss bought him it for xmas because he had a very good year and this is how i got mine as for the tradeing up/down he said he would give me the money back paid just before christmas thus before the price increase so i would have to put money to it i should imagine the only thing i would do is trade up for a TT daytona but to be completely honest its something i can not afford without borrowing money i have to say that out of all the watches i viewed this one is the one that jumped out at me and i couldnt take my eyes off it i will stick with it the chaps at RSC london will put it right im sure i just feel naked without it |

Magnetism is often the culprit on a sudden and large variation in timing such as you describe.

Sorry it happened to you, but it does happen with any brand. I had a 1990 GMT (brand new at the time) fail on me twice, and my current TT Sub new from 1994 had no working lume.

my sub is an M serial that was bought a few weeks before christmas
the daytona is now just over a month old Quote:
i asked about a daytona and he offered me full money back against another rolex i presume they wouldn't exchange for new without rolex authorising it first and i have to give rolex a chance to put it right before i demand an exchange also i think along the lines that they are opening the watch up and will fix and examine everything so i will have more faith in it |

My Explorer managed to get a white particle inside for 1 week use, which had to be removed, and it's been perfect ever since

well i picked it up from the AD's today
when i shake it i can hear what you guys are talking about but have to say that the noise i heard when i took it in was 10 times worse there was also the date sticking from time to time and the running fast issue when i have asked what was wrong the AD said is all that was on the paperwork was "adjusted & tested" the AD said thats all that normally comes when its warranty work im just happy to have it back on my wrist |
