3186 movement question
I hope someone will know the answer to this.

The Parachrom Blue spring is on any watch equipped with the 3186 mechanism (Some late 16710s, 116710s and Explorer II). They started with the Daytona that is also equipped with the Parachrom spring.

This is why i do it Eddie!!! I love the anti-3186 movement in the forum. I mean some misled people (technophobes might i say?) do not understand the virtues of the Columbine 3186 16710!!

Parachrome or Nivarox, Kif or Paraflex, are just words, don't think there could be any real improvement to any Rolex movement over the last two decades. All Rolex movements no matter what the BS and marketing hype have said. They have been very accurate long lasting for decades, just look how many of them are in this world today, simply millions of them, and remember it takes a year to make a Rolex.

I was just curious as this was stated on the Day Date II so I wondered if the 3186 movement had it as well.
After spending years developing and perfecting the Rolex movement, entrusting it to a standard shock-absorbing system was never a consideration. Traditional springs within shock-absorbing systems may not be strong enough. If the spring opens, the consequence is immediate: the watch stops. Determined to build the most dependable timepiece possible, Rolex engineers created a new shock-absorbing system: a patented technology named Paraflex. The design of the Paraflex spring improves resistance to shocks by up to 50% and improves the life and dependability of the movement itself. |

No, No, No.....
The 3186 does NOT have the Paraflex shock system..... It does have the Parachrom hairspring, but that was not the original question...
