Fake?

I don't know, but the hour markers seem very small. Never seen this before, but may be rare? What do you think?

Seller - rolex1963 (520)

http://cgi.ebay.com/Rolex-Tudor-Oyst...3286.m63.l1177

"This is a really nice 41 years old Rolex Tudor Oyster Prince non date Submariner .

Model Number is 7016/0

Serial Number 741202

Bracelet is a Rolex Oyster 78360 with 580 end links fits an 8" wrist.

Inside of case back shows IV 68

Movement is 25 Rubies and marked 2483.

Plastic glass has a few scratches and so does the bracelet , i would reccommend a service and refurb to bring this watch back to its original condition.

Why pay £3000 + for a Rolex 5513 when this will look just as good for under £1500.

Please email or call with any questions 07831 871699"

Questions:
Q: What happened to that dial!!!! Is this the original dial plate at least or is this all aftermarket? How about the hands, are they original or aftermaret?
A: Hi , i think the dial is original but has at least be reloomed , not sure about the hands . Dials can be sourced for £100 so don't see it as a problem and this dial loooks fine to me.

A few issues, Rolex bracelet, Rolex crown, The dial isn't original, should be tritium hand and markers and the hour markers are much larger and should have "T SWISS T".

I'm not a tudor expert so can only comment what I see wrong there, Stan, Steve Guys? help :-)

This seller has a great track record and other items he has sold are good.

I did a search on this forum in case he is a member, eBay member rolex1963 if you are on here let us know :-)

Cheers,

Dave.

...mmmmmmm...

...idk01 has pretty well covered it.

...the dial is OBVIOUSLY a poor refi. AND, would be very difficult to find an original dial, albeit the snowflake or mercedes style. Soooo, a refi would be needed to make it period correct again.

...the case and mvmt appear genuine.

...I did not look at the crown, but these originally came with the 7mm TWIN LOCK Crown and tube, and when they wear out, are replaced with the current triplocks. It is difficult to find one with an original Twin lock tube. AND, it is all but impossible to find the 7mm Twin lock crowns...period.

...the 68 date would be consistent with the 700,000 ser#, I think. There were a few variants on what is seen in the case backs.

...there were 2 mvmts available/used in the 7016. One being the 2461 and the other the 2483.

...the band is a non-issue, unless you want period correct and that most likely would have been a Tudor 9315 w/diver ext. Same deal here, when the original wears out and cannot be replaced with originals, then you put on what YOU are comfortable with.

Stan.

Excellent guys.

Dial doesn't look good. Wish seller would disclose the refi.
