Rolex will never have steel sports models readily available ever. The daytona shortage is there from decades and will continue for centuries to come lol. The main reason is to divert the people towards the TT and PM watches! Because that’s where the company makes huge profits! A gold watch manufacturing cost for rolex will be less than 10k as per current gold valuations. But it sells at around 30k. The same profit would be made by selling four to five steel watches! So if they make steel watches available, TT and PM watches will hardly sell and the company will have to increase its production four folds to make steel watches to make similar profits. And that would mean it would be raining rolexes also and hence good discounts and so less profit eventually still. So steel watches are always gonna be in shortage forever! And this makes people want them even more so to build up relationship with their ADs, they end up buying more vanila watches or TT or maybe even a PM! And that’s exactly what rolex wants! So don’t give in to the hype and the vicious circle and tactics created by rolex and buy the beautiful TT or the PM models of watches you really want with discounts rather than buying many watches you don’t want just to build that relation with your AD. Coz Daytona at msrp is a myth. Spend 80-100k on watches and it’ll appear magically lol. And I don’t understand the logic behind people saying TT is not as good looking or meh.. you are saying this coz the internet says so. And internet says so coz it’s available. Had rolex been making SS watches available readily and TT not so easily, believe me, ya’ll would line up to buy those TTs!
