Rolex 5500 A.K/Explorer thoughts please.

Hi guys,

I'm aware this has been discussed a thousand times, but can anyone see any immediate issues with this 5500? The seller has said the markings/serial is correct for a t25 dial, and the movement is 1520, so correct for a Precision dial. To my eye the hands also look correct.

I know these are a hotbed of mess in general but does any one see any immediate flags?

Thank you for any help.

Best.

the immediate issue has to be the fake dial, or am I missing something

Thank you.

I don't have any knowledge on early Rolex. The oldest one I own is from 1991! The hour markers on the watch posted appear to be further from the minute track, apart from that it looks very similar to my untrained eye. Obviously the SWISS-T <25 is different.

So is the dial an outright fake or redial?

Thanks again.

there are only a few people around here that can confidently identify a correct 5500 Explorer....... The general consensus is that majority of examples out there are re-dialled Airkings.......proceed with extreme caution.
