1957 6480 Oyster
I've got this '57 6480 Oyster that my father bought me in HK in the day. We lived in Taiwan at the time. Anyhow I got it out and it's still running fine but needs some care. Upon opening the back I lost one of the springs that hold the mechanism in the case, I never saw the screw. Wonder where I could get those parts?
Was thinking about sending it in to get serviced and maybe a refurbished dial? Is this place any good? wwwdotthewatchbuyersgroupdotcom/rolex-repair/ I would not get it polished. It's marked III.57 inside but the model nr is scratched between one of the lugs and the other side I cannot make out the S/N, which appears to also be scratched in. There are some numbers in the inside case edges. I could post some pics if I try maybe. It looks exactly like this guy's repair job. watchguydotcodotuk/teardown-service-rolex-6480-oyster-calibre-1210/ I would send it to him, but he appears to have a long lead time. It also has some scratchings inside the back cover but cannot make out. I know it's been serviced several times, but long time ago. The band is the strechy metal one but has been replaced, 1970. Thanks for any help, Dave |
