I love full real gold watches. One day I will have a all gold Sub or GMT!

By the way that is a real beauty!

That is such a classy watch. I saw one the other day at a meeting but the dial was a wood finish one. Superb timepiece, if I was to get another Rolex I would save my nickels for a DD. You are one good son to give your father such a gift.

I say keep the original clasp on it.

Nice watch, I never noticed the upside down right side up 6's until now. When did that change? After looking at more dials closer I also noticed the 4s are just IIII, that kind of bothers me.

There are a few ROO threads floating around that could express it better, like

Here's my actual watch

I'm not too familiar with dials options back then. RSC replaced this watch's hands/dial/date wheel during a service last year to give it a new look.

I've been told that the reason all Roman numeral watches have IIII instead of IV is because designers thought that having 4 characters on one side for the number 8 (VIII) and two on the other for the number 4 (IV) would give the watch an unbalanced look. So they used 4 characters for the number 4 (IIII) to balance the look.
