Icon5 Original Rolex?

Anyone seen an old Datejust with this kind of dial before? Is this an original Rolex dial or aftermarket one? Or maybe it's a real dial that's been refinished in red. I've never seen a dial like this.

JJ is right crooked as can be.

I personally have never seen a Red dial before on a DJ. I have seen blue, gold, off white, black but not red.

Engine-turned bezel on a DJ! I thought they were only available on the OP Date.

I think the bezel is correct, because I have a 16030 Datejust from 1986 that looks like this but with an ORIGINAL black dial (and properly positioned crown.) I stumbled upon the red Datejust while doing some research to try to figure out if the bezel on my Datejust is white gold or not. That's a question that's still unanswered, so if anyone has tips for determining how you know for sure if the bezel on a 16030 is white gold or not, I'm all ears. Rolex did make some Datejusts with white gold bezels and others with stainless steel bezels, correct? Or maybe I'm confused.

They did make both. After you clean it does it shine different than the rest of the watch?WG has a totally different glow or shine than SS

I have seen this before, and by this, I mean the exact same watch. The same online store had a wierd grass-green dial also.

That's a good point. I'll need to shine it up. I assume the white gold is warmer and not as shiny, right?

they did make the engine turned bezel in SS. my father has one like that. at some point they must have stopped offering that, and switched it to WG fluted.

Looking at the way the crown is crookedly set on top of the indices I think it's pretty clear that the dial is aftermarket. The font doesn't look right either.

Engine-turned bezels did come on DJs and in STEEL only. Now replaced by the steel domed bezel.

The watch and bezel are fine, but the dial is redone for the aftermaket.

As far as the bezels go on a SS DJ, if they are fluted bezels, they are white gold. The engine turned bezels that are SS look completely diffrent. The pic is of a SS bezel.

Rolex did make those very bright and very colorful dials for their DJs. Red. Green. Blue. And a blinding yellow. Don't know if this one is original or not, but there are some that are.
