Am i stupid to swap my week old 14060M for the 16610?
Hey everyone i have had my new non date sub just over a week now, originaly i wasn't a lover of the cyclops on the date version so went with the non date, i am now finding myself drawn to the date version for two reasons,
1) I miss not having a date as i took it for granted before and have found i use it a few times a day. 2) I also now feel as though i have got the lesser model in terms of the 16610 coming with the better bracelet. I have been i contact with the AD i bought it from and i don't think there is any problem in me swapping it i just need to pay the extra £360 along with another £60 for a new warranty card for my watch. Anyone any thoughts on what to do, would just like some opinions, Cheers. |

I would change it for two reasons:
1) If you already now is dissatisfied it won't be better later. You obviously did the wrong choice (for you). 2.) I think the date function is very useful and I think the cyclops is something typical for a Rolex which is nice.

Well if you want the date function then its quite simple get the 16610,although the SEL bracelet is a little bit more solid less rattle.Would not call it a better bracelet than the one on the 14060m, both are quite functional and very long lasting, movement wise both basically same .

Well, if the date function is really important to you then, yes, a swapp for a 16610 definitely makes sense. I personally could not compromise on this feature as I use the date on daily basis.
I wouldn't worry about the extra £420. It will be worthwhile in the long run. Good luck in your decision! |

If you want the date - go for the 16610! In my case, I chosed the Sub ND COSC due to the fact that it is more rare than the sub date. In addition, I have a date on my Nokia ;)

Like the grass being greener on the other side, a Rolex you don't have is always shinier. Keep the non date and buy a calendar

So true I would not say the sub date has a better bracelet, it's just a little different.

I would say for you to do what makes you happy. And only you know what that is!!! I own the Sub ND and thoroughly like it. When I wear this watch I just remember what day it is. And as said you do have your cell phone which will tell you what the date is!!!

I would return it now while the offer with your AD is still available. Otherwise every time you look at your watch, you'll be wondering about the date and be even more dissatisfied.

For pure beauty you can't beat the ND Sub. The simplicity, the dial symmetry, the history. And since it sounds as if Rolex might be discontinuing the model, you might regret the swap. If you're a lover of watches for mostly aesthetic reasons, don't switch them. However, if you really NEED that date function you should do it. Or you could do what obsessed watch nuts like myself do: get one of each.

I have both, but understand about needing the date.
The other option is the Sea Dweller the non-cyclops version of the sub. |

That decision is totally up to you.
However it sounds as though you are not happy without the date function. I could not get by without my date. Ya sure you could use your phone or a calendar but that would require pulling something out of you pocket to look at every time you wanted to know the date. Why do that when you have a beautiful piece of hardware buckled to your wrist. If your AD is willing to do it I think I would. Good luck and keep us posted. |

If your not happy then do it now while your AD is willing to do so.
Last thing you want is to be stuck with a watch you don't like. Good luck! |

I agree that if you're having second thoughts now, and your AD is willing, go ahead and change it. I personally prefer the date on my watch so the 16610 was an easy choice.

I made that swap. I had a 14060m for several months then bought a 16610. I still found myself wearing the 14060M as it was more comfortable.
Then I got my Sea-Dweller. |

The 14060 was my first, and I ended up getting both a 16610 and a 16613, while keeping my 14060.

No date, no cyclops? No Rolex!!
You should have gone for the 16610 in the first place. Good luck - JJ
