Is availability for SS pieces improving?

I read a similar thread in the Rolex general discussion today and wanted to extend that dialogue to AP. Before any frequent posters get upset, I realize this has been discussed here and there and it is a purely speculative subject. I also do not want to be insensitive of the global tragedy that is unfolding. I’m not here to talk about price fluctuation or value retention.
Yesterday I spoke over the phone with a boutique SA to see what they had available. For reference, I have no purchase history with them however I have been in touch with this particular SA since December. In December I was told there was no chance of a SS RO without first purchasing a PM piece or a code. Yesterday I was offered my pick of the black 26331, the all grey 26315 and also the silver 26315 with blue counters over the phone... Three SS RO chronos sitting in stock and available for purchase over the phone.
Have any of you had similar experiences lately? Maybe I just called on a luck day and I am overthinking it? Or are the chronos just easier to come by?

ROC easier to come by. That silver/blue would be awfully tempting.

Mind sharing if it was west coast or East coast boutique?

Considering production has now paused, I'm not sure how the availability will improve. It's not like Boutiques kept SS models in stock. :(

You might get lucky in finding some boutiques with a few pieces that customers put a deposit on and decided not to go forward with for whatever reason. Generally speaking, I don’t think those will be any of the really hot pieces, like blue dial steel Royal Oaks. More likely some offshores and Royal Oak Chronographs. For the really hot pieces, even if they become available, they’ll likely be offered to and snatched up quick by other established customers. I was offered a blue dial 15500 in late Feb when the COVID-19 situation started getting bad around the world, and I didn’t hesitate to take it. It likely was allocated to another customer with an established relationship who changed their mind.

The AD that I buy from had a delivery from AP the day before the lockdown, many of those watches will have deposits against them but they can’t be collected until after the lockdown ends and the store reopens. Depending on how long this lasts it’s possible that by then some of the buyers with deposits will choose not to take the watch.

Nobody knows right now and it will to a large degree depend upon how long this goes on for and how badly it effects things overall. Yes, on the one hand with AP currently closed there will be a reduction of some sort (unknown) in pieces being produced, but on the other there will surely be a reduction in customers, for a while at least, at the other end of this. How one situation will balance against the other who knows, but it will likely have an effect on both availability and, by extension, secondary values.

I would love to get that 26315ST white/silver dial with blue sub dial.
Do they allow me to purchase from out of state? It would be better for me to save some sale tax also.
Thanks for your info.
