Wriggle wriggle

Dear all, i've noticed that when I adjust the time on my SubC 116610LN (2013), the second's hand wriggles a little bit as well. Same thing on my YM 16623 (2002). I was not expecting this for the solid movement construction. But this problem has been persisting for a few years now.

Secondly, i'm sure you are aware, the rehaut has changed from being engraved (YM) to laser-etched (SubC). An interesting transition, and something not often discussed in detail. Although, there is a useful article:

What you are experiencing with the hands moving slightly when setting the watch is normal. There is a small amount of play in the gears which causes this. The play is needed so the gears can operate properly without added resistance or friction.

Play in the various hands while setting is normal and rather common across all brands. Not a big deal unless you’re very particular about synchronizing exactly to an atomic clock

Thanks for sharing the article. Interesting read. I wonder how long it will take China counterfeit hubs to get their rehaut fixed!
Regarding wiggling hands, I don’t experience that with my SD43. Maybe because it’s a different movement.
