Agree with Deep Sea! Brian, give the AD those options..... And don't show him this thread. It won't help the deal. |

it really does...
not matter wether the AD sees this or not; what matters is what you are prepared to go with in the deal. The AD will find this thread amusing to say the least. Show it to him, you aint "tippin nothin" by doin so !

Agree! Sharing the comments here won't do you any good. We're giving you our advice to better equip YOU to 'state your case'

Thanks, Randy EDIT: Dont put too much stock into comments made here as you all know full well that the deal could go either way and has no real value to anyone except your own big inflated "ROLEX wearin" typin as fast as you can, fat egos ! Hmm ! |

This is too weird. I walked in to an AD yesterday here in Iowa looking for an Explorer and the AD pulled those same watches out of his safe. Asked him why they weren't in the case and he said he just got them and hadn't had a chance to do all the paperwork, etc. on them.
I wonder if Rolex just pushed a bunch of inventory out getting ready for Basel? |

Brian, I would keep the negotiation fairly simple.
Have all the numbers in hand to support you thinking and see if he bites. Remember, in these tough times the buyer has the upper hand. Many of his watches have been sitting. I know, I have seen them sitting. |

One more thing Brian....
Make sure to examine the pieces in the display case carefully. They may have scratches from going in and out of the case each day. I have seen them with my own eye bang Rolex's into each other and the case. |

I hope that you get a really good deal but I must say I'd be surprised if you get 20-25% off the three.
After all, out of a probable extensive display of Rolex watches these three are probably the most sale able watches he has. Even though the UK is in trouble financially the dealers are not budging on price. In a moment of madness yesterday I nearly pulled the trigger on a Patek 5146 and it was only the dealer's stingy 8% "best discount" that scuppered the deal. He played hardball and I walked.

Short of a gas or something, would you skuttle the deal over scratches, or just use i as a bargaining point? I don't plan on negotiating on that level More like, whats your best price? Then, well, this is what I have to spend. Something like that. What's your take?

No, not with the thought of selling them now, but the thought of preserving value. I think we all like to believe that we have some equity in our Rolexes (I mean they're not TAG's!!!)

Why has this thread focused so clearly on getting all 3? Do you have a particular affinity for two, or one alone? I know you're trying to maximize your discount but it seems the fanfare has swayed toward a detriment of logic. I'd be surprised if you couldn't get an outstanding discount on the DSSD and Milgauss together, for example. The sticky one for discounts should be the Daytona.

I agreed. Daytona would be the least discount. Deep sea more then GV then Daytona. Good luck...
