I'd go with a rubber strap on the 15500 (though I would probably never wear this watch on anything other than the bracelet), especially for the warmer months in Asia. For the white dial, a rubber strap in white might be fun for the summer.

Can anyone advise if AD's can sell you the watch on a rubber strap, or do you have to take the croc and buy the rubber strap seperately? I am talking OEM only.

ADs will sale you exactly whatever shown on AP catalog (based on Ref. #). Some models come with bracelet, some models come with leather strap and some models come with rubber strap. If you want something different from that, you will have to purchase extra.

I ended up not getting rubber as the bracelet was too nice once i put it on. I have 2 rubber ROO44 so I’m ok with rubber in any case lol...

Maybe the city of sails strap will fit. That will fit on a 39mm 26300 but not sure lug and case dimensions of the 38mm are the same.

Get tang and buckle if possible. The Deployant for AP is so uncomfortable, legendary in how bad the fit is.

In addition to above you need 4 RG plots as the bracelet plots are Builtin and come off with the bracelet. I think the plots alone are 300 each—so you are looking at about 3k or so for the conversion (1200 for plots, 1500ish for deployment and 300 for a rubber strap). For my wife’s watch which was 2 tone RO, i went with steel plots and steel deployment which made the whole deal about 1200 (i cold have gone either steel or RG as the watch was 2 tone). I am now waiting for the 1.5 link because its a bit tight now as one more link makes it too loose. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Going to have to disagree with you there, while it may not fit for you, it absolutely fits perfectly for me. Casting a generalization like that is foolish, there are way too many factors to suggest that it's unequivocally uncomfortable, and saying it's legendary is preposterous.

Why not look for a different reference without the bracelet?

I think there is no rubber strap for 12315st (38mm) model. If you want to modify it by yourself, you can check on "apbands.com" or "rubberb.com". These two companies are selling bands for ap watches.
