Agree... the level of detail is uncomparable to the tbh simple Rolex finish

I would not make the trade. Daytona is a Daytona, tough to replace and my become tougher. Can always find a ROC.

They compliment each other well. But if I have to be honest, the AP really exposes the daytona hype. Despite their market price, they are not the same in the same league IMO

i am pretty sure even with the 2.5x mp premium the ROC retail with a 5pc discount is still more expensive. 10yrs later the daytona and the ROC would probably be worth close to same.

The are not in the same league in terms of craftmanship or detail but many more people know and seek the daytona hence the premium.

if you sell the daytona and buy the roc, you will be able to sell the roc and buy a used daytona without issue and without losing much if any money i think...

any one who compares them as equivalent craftsmanship probably have not seen the AP dial without the protective plastic in an outdoor sunlight setting. its blinding!!!

this is all gueswork looking at chrono24 market pricing. i have no rolex and no interest in owning one. i find rolexes too small and uninteresting and common. I also don't really like ROC but i do like and own several APs.

ROC in a heartbeat. The 38mm is unreal and I think is a huge win

Daytona isn't tough to replace...just look at the # on sale in the grey market. It's not a rare piece. There are way less 26315's out there.

I´m buildning an 8 piece collection.

Would still have two Rolexes without the Daytona.
So for that reason is guess the AP makes more sense.

The dial on the AP looks awesome, thanks for posting all pics...

May I know your wrist size? Looks great on you!

Is the 38mm chrono relatively available in AP boutique or do you have to wait quite a long time for it?

Thanks a lot!
6.5” wrist here.
At the time when I was looking- I was told I could have the grey dial without a wait. White face wait time was indeterminate - however I got a call after two weeks for a watch promised to someone else when that person failed to turn up. I couldn’t tell you what the wait time is now however.

Thats lucky for you! Did you get the watch from a boutique in Singapore?

Is this your daily watch?

Yes, as this is a boutique edition.
Been under lockdown so the panda hasn’t been getting enough wrist time sadly.

Didn’t weigh in earlier since I don’t know what other watches you have.

Since you’re building an 8 watch collection, would you have room for 2 chronos? If the answer is yes, then the Daytona and the ROC should both be there.

I’m fortunate to have both, and while it’s tempting to compare, they’re both very special in their own ways and they’re both rarely seen out there in the real world outside of Instagram.

I owned multiple APs long before the hype started but for every day wear I always came back to Rolex especially to the current Daytona.

Comfort wise, which one is more comfortable for you to wear (between daytona and the ROC).
