Curious About Purchasing Rolex

Hi all,

First and foremost, total newb here on the Rolex Forums. I figured I would ask those who have more experience and knowledge than I do. I was looking into the Submariner 5513, and I was searching on eBay. I'm just curious as to why certain watches have more watchers than others. I know the rules state not to have links, but I feel like that's the only want to show what I mean.

For example, there is one listed as unpolished with box and papers and the seller has a 100% rating, but not enough watching the listing to flag it. But another listing doesn't have box and papers but more than 20 watches. Both watches seem comparable (to my limited knowledge). Is it the seller, or just the watch itself, or maybe a combination of both?

Sorry for the lengthy post, but this has been something on my mind for quite some time. Any help is appreciated. Thank you in advance! Stay safe everyone!

Take a look at the sticky thread 5513 matte dial in the Vintage Section. That will first help identify which one you’re looking at. That’s a good starting point so that you can start comparing comparable models.
