Waiting List call!

Last night I registered to join a waiting list for a PAM 01055, the green-dial submersible that was a sold-out limited edition. Today I received a call from Panerai saying I could pre-order the same watch and take delivery in the spring! They needed to run my card for the total amount but said it was just a pre-authorization, that the charge would fall off in a few days. I’m debating it.

Very common Richemont group practice but as far as I know, they will keep your money.

What is there to laugh about? He's talking of a limited edition watch for which there is an extraordinary demand. Regardless, the Panerai I got last week was announced at SIHH 2019 and dealers were told delivery to be November/December. Customers gave them deposits and now the watches are coming in and being distributed to those people on the list. It's that simple.

It's called the "hiding" trick which they all learned from Rolex.

Maybe there's just fewer than 500 people who actually want to own one...? How are they doing on the secondary market?

Can confirm. Not all 500 were sold yet. Final batch coming up. They will take preorders. Beautiful watch. That is all.

Panerai is coming back hard. Believe it or not, Rolex got too common and Grey price gouging doesn’t mean scarcity.

Panerai is the latest trend in Asia...

But is is still big?
I thought the demand for Panerai is decreasing the last years in asia either.

Checked it out after reading this thread, and I was able to reserve one pretty easily. Looks pretty sweet-the strap is a little too patchy with the dial, but I figure I can swap it out with a black strap if necessary.

It’s weird. I was able to reserve one really easily, yet they’re going for about 33% higher than list on the secondary market.

Hey guys, did they mention when delivery was going to be? If you have already received it, would appreciate some experience sharing and wrist shots~ I am considering one too!

Thanks in advance, stay safe and keep well!
