Icon5 How did you make your purchase - Cash, Credit or Finance?

When purchasing your time piece of choice, how did you make your purchase? Did you pay cash, use your credit card or finance the watch of your dreams?

Obviously each purchase method has its up's and downs, just curious to see how the community is making their purchases.

I use the CC to pay for it so I can get the miles then pay the CC off 100% when I get the bill. I never finance a luxury item (excluding a vehicle), if I can't afford to pay it off when I get the bill, I do not buy it.

Exactly the way I do it. My purchases have bought a lot of upgrades on long haul flights.

Same here. Get those Seamiles.

Same with the mortgage payment. Just pay the CC off every month.

Have bought a lots of them so many different ways.

Mostly via a credit card for purchase protection and cash back, but paid in full when due. I have also taken the only discount I could get on some hot models and that was interest free financing. I always figure the NPV of the payments, but most of the time I just get tired of making the payments after a few months and just pay the darn thing off. I guess I don't like the monthly reminder of what it cost me either.

Cash only......if you can't afford it, don't buy it. If you can't afford it, don't go into debt and if you still can't afford it, to hell with it.

What kind of a comment is that, i financed my Rolex with 0% interest, the reason i have done this is because i have a new baby on the way and there are more important things to spend £3740 on which as i type is sitting in my bank account, i did have to pay the 20% deposit which was in cash and is more money than 90% of the general public would ever dream of spending on a watch.
In the past 10 years i have spent about 10k on watches all paid for in cash, so what gives you the right to say i have no business in owning a Rolex just because i have chosen to pay for it by finance, to me i am still paying for it but choose to keep my money in the bank for more important things.

The Godfather is as ever correct!

If you can't afford it, don't buy it

If I want something that is £1 and I have 99p in my pocket, I can't afford it.
