Factory Ordering

Hello,
Just placed an order with my AD for a new DJ36 for the Mrs. They said the portal has been down and didn’t have an eta. Anyone know more?

I don’t mean to sound flippant but nobody can tell you a thing about an eta for a delivery to your AD. And delivery times in one store have no bearing on delivery times to another store.

If you want the watch now I would contact DavidSW and tell him what you want and he can source it and have it shipped directly to you next day by 1030 am. No need to play around with AD's and not knowing.

I mean it depends on when Rolex is able to send them the watch with covid slowing things down. Can't really blame the AD for not having an ETA...also, ADs receive watches like a lottery. They tell Rolex what they want but they never know when they will actually get it. The AD may have a request in for 20 different watches and Rolex may send 10/20 5/20, etc. However, a dj36 should come sooner rather than later.

They ADs were able to get rough ETAs last year but they were very unreliable. Now I do not think anything can be ordered and it comes in when and if it does. I think there is so much demand right now and allocations are and must be very fluid making it difficult to commit to delivery times. Hopefully, the market becomes more supplied and orderly in the future.

So an AD who sells a mass produced item has absolutely no clue when Rolex can get them a generally available DateJust model?

Rolex being a company who has 4 factories and a powerful marketing and distribution channel...

Not trying to be facetious but what am I missing here?

Thanks

Rolex generally doesn’t give delivery dates. They give an approximate number of weeks.

And we need to remember that not all ADs are treated with the same priority. So if a ‘more important’ store orders the same watch you want after you order it, they will nearly always get it first.

Just as high volume customers get what they want, so too do high volume ADs.

Even stainless DJ36 are not “generally available” as they were a year ago.

Try finding a white dial OP39, or any OP39 for that matter. Those were hanging out in cases all over the place last spring. Not anymore...

Sometimes you have to reboot it. Do you shut it down and restart it?
