Scratch Pen Suggestions

Hey all. New guy question here. I’ll probably get roasted for this one but worth a shot! Here’s the situation: I used the Bergeon tweezer tool to remove the bracelet on my Sub 116610LN and the bar slipped scratching up the bottom front side of the 6 o’clock lugs. Would the Bergeon scratch pen be a wise move to lightly touch up? Which one should I get if so? Photo attached here. Many thanks 🙏

How often do you intend to take the bracelet on and off?

Scratch Pen Suggestions

The brush pen will not smooth out the light dings, only hide scratches (provided you have a steady hand). don’t worry about it is my advice and just let the professionals do it when it comes time for a service

Agree! Don't do it. IMHO those pens do more harm than good. I have never been able to blend a ding or mark out with them. I made it only worse.

that "damage" is microscopic. It's a daily watch, enjoy it and don give it another thought. Could you imagine asking Hans Wilsdorf that question? He'd probably die laughing.

The Bergeon 7825 is the worst idea I have ever had. The only time I scratched my watch was debuting the supposedly wonderful tool. It is uncomfortable, sharp and makes the job even more difficult in my opinion.

I wouldn't touch it. Just wear it until time to service. Time to enjoy it.

I have similar light marks. No worry. Just get them laser welded by a pro. You will do more harm than good messing with stuff like that.

Must disagree. Have used the 7825 at least 25 times. No scratches, no tape.

I'm with you. I've used this before and as long as you are patient with a very light hand it will make a lot of hairline scratches go away. But it's also a little pointless because the scratches come right back. I've never used it on a scratch that's deep enough to be felt with a nail.

Excellent decision. Those are nothing. In fact well done. Your first attempt could have been so much worse and you likely won't let that happen again.

Those pens are a mistake. I did it on an Explorer II in the same spots and now the brushing has a different sheen than the rest of the brushing.

I don’t see any dings. I’d let it go.

Am also wondering what would happen if you used it on the Exp. II bezel, which has a different grain than the bracelet.

This. Embrace the scratches. They give the watch personality.
