Screw size and part number for oyster link on 116600
Hi Guys,
I went to an AD to change a couple of screws that i messed-up while resizing my oyster bracelet with the wrong screwdriver. Didn't pay much attention before i arrived home and noticed that the new screws are not flush with the links. I removed one new screw and compared it to the screw (messed-up too) that was on my spare link in the box. This new screw is clearly shorter, and the end diameter of the thread seems to be smaller. I'll go back to the AD to complain and change them again, but in the meantime do you guys know: - the ref number of the oyster bracelet on the 116600 - the ref number of the link screw on that bracelet and the exact dimensions of the screw I'm wondering if i should order some generic screws at Esslinger. Any feedback on that? Thank you |

So, for those interested by the end of this story, here it is:
I went back to my AD, complaining that the screws were too short compared to the flush ones on the other links. He checked, counter-checked, counter-counter-checked, and tried again to install, indeed, the screws 32-20687. And... same result!! The screws 32-20687 supplied as spares are shorter than the original ones and can't be flush to the links. Which led us to the conclusion: the only way to have new screws that are flush with the links is to order new links! I therefore ended-up ordering 2 links, 60 euros each. And now this is perfect, as new. It seems like the factory screws are a bit longer than the spare part ones, and are polished with the bracelet as it has been said in many threads. |

Thanks for the update. I would prefer the shorter screws to the old longer ones.
Years ago there were lots of complaints about the longer ones. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
