Question about older/vintage Rolexes
I figured I would post this question in the tech section solely because my question is if you wanted the RSC to service your older watches, like the early 90's models and older that have lost their lume. Would they be able to relume the markers and hands again for you? I have a 1990 sub and the lume has burned out. I would like to have them relume but didnt know if that is an option as I want l them to glow like the newer models.

Tony,
Based on your request, their policy would be to replace with new dial and set of hands. Bob |

They dont relume, they replace the dial with a new service dial but keep in mind that the value of a Rolex sub is in its originality. Once you start having service parts installed then its value diminishes.

Your other option which I would recommend - is to buy a service dial and Luminova set of hands. This way you can keep your original parts and get what you want without devaluing the piece.

You can relume them from a good watchmaker. Rolex doesn’t relume.

No matter what you do to the original dial it will KILL the price of the watch. Do not relume it, do not send it to Rolex, etc. It's not that hard to find a replacement dial for 1990s Sub. Don't know which model you have (I assume 16610, based the date), and these dials are still common |
