Crown etching on Oysterquartz

Hi all,
I have an Oysterquartz 17000 manufactured in 1983. I can't seem to locate the crown etching. Did Rolex have them in 1983?
Thanks...

My 2002 GMT doesn't have one. I think they were introduced early 2000's!

I believe that it began 2000-2001 so no need to keep looking. Possibly could have one though if the crystal has been replaced after that time though.

I have several OQ, one from the very last ones. 2001-2002 and no of them have the crown etched and the only I have seen for sale in Chrono24 it was very very wear maybe even the sapphire crystal was not ROLEX.
Regards,
Mike

End of the production run was 2000-2001, but Ive seen them sold as late as 2006 (PM models).

Ive seen some OQ with crowns but those would likely be service crystals :) from the RSC.

The LEC in the crystal did not start till 2001 so your watch will not have one.
