The Sea Dweller

Does anyone here have a GMT-II ceramic and a Sea Dweller?

I am looking at getting a Sea Dweller soon, probably a D-series, and just want to know what the comparison is between the two, and how people think they wear. I will go try one on, but just curious what input anyone has in the meantime.

Also, when was the "last" update to this watch? I love the updates on the GMT-II ceramic, so I want to know what the differences are between the two.

Thanks!

I don't have a GMT, but the SD has none of the "updates" - old clasp, old bezel...

I used to own the 16600 Sea Dweller. I now own the GMT IIc and 116660 Deep Sea Sea Dweller (DSSD)

It is comparing apples to oranges as far as the styles of the watches. The Sea Dweller is very nice and will sit a little higher on your wrist. The GMT IIc has the updates including the improved bracelet and clasp, cerachrom bezel and maxi dial. The GMT IIC will be more comfortable, but not much. I think you will like the Sea Dweller and I wish I would not have sold mine

On a side note - The DSSD is very comfortable and sits very well on the wrist

Good luck!

Sean

You should try the SD in person to see if you like it.

Since you are coming from a newer and improved ceramic GMT, it would be somewhat of a let down. The SD is a very nice watch and a living legend amongst diving watches.

The clasp would be the major difference, the bracelets in my opinion, feels the same between the SD and GMTIIC. SD has aluminum bezel and the lugs are smaller.

Try them it on in the flesh and see which you like.....

Notice the clasp as compared to your GMTIIC

I do.

Everyone is a bit different, but to me the GMT wears a bit bigger while the SD feels a bit thicker.

The flatter caseback of the GMT lies a tad better on my wrist, but that's so dependent on the construction of one's wrist. Others will feel differently.
