Have set a couple friends up with a Mac mini and 2 Dell monitors, perfect home setup that mimics their office setup without the grief of the Microsoft BS.

Yes apple monitors look great, but not for that kind of money, and you need 2 monitors really.
Same, I have a 13" pro and a 21" iMac for desk work and find this set up more than adequate. Realistically I could get by with just one. Both are going on 5 years and for the most part running strong. Yeah, these monitors are stupid money. You could pick up a nice watch for what that set up would run.

Yes I don't know the file system like I do windows, but with Mac I don't need to know.

Thanks - yes it seems to cluster things into apps like photos.

Will have a play around and try to figure it out more

I’ve had my mini for 8yrs. I still don’t know all of the nuances. I’m trying though. That said I always wanna fight somebody when it comes to photos. Trying to edit/delete the ol collection is an insane pita. Suuuuucccccckkksssss.
However, the thing has been reliable. Only now have I had to do anything to it. Cracked it open, threw in a new ssd, reinstalled Catalina and it runs like new.
Biggest issue overall is the fact that office apps are watered down on macOS. So on my next machine, I’ll need a 2tb ssd so I can split it 50/50 between mac and windows.
