In only...
...Panerai would release a cousin of 1661 with an 8 day manual wind, vintage font and a clean dial variation(s). One can only dream Here's a little Photoshop preview:

That's for sharing these.
I wouldn't object to keeping the same movement, just bin the date and don't 'Automatic' on the dial. Your first rendering with 3 day auto would be very appealing. |

Yeah, “automatic” script and a date window are putting me off from buying 1661, but I love the fact that Panerai are experimenting with new materials like Carbotech. I just wish they would fuse old school design aesthetic with new tech. It would be an instant hit in my opinion and the best of both worlds, both past and future.

Great job! I find the whole “70 years of Luminor” product line very tacky. Panerai should have done something really special, definitely a missed opportunity.

Agree with all of the above!!! How I wish it's as simple as swapping out the upper dial....

I love the look of the PAM01661. I want to go to a boutique to try it on the wrist! Does anyone currently have this watch? I can find very little in the way of reviews etc.
