Or better still, keep the Smurf blue nice and smurfy, but add a darker, navy blue SS Sub - fire!

Not impressed at all with the new black dialed LV.
If I were buying, the all black LN would be the way to go.
Agreed.
I think the new half-Hulk is much less attractive/special with the black dial.

But this gives Rolex a "new" model to roll out in a few years, Hulk 2, a green dial to go with the green bezel.

I don’t care for the green bezel at all. In fact, I’m not a fan of any of Rolex’ ceramic colored bezels. They just look off to me, especially the red/blue version.

I don't see the point of just having a green bezel, the Hulk stays above and apart, really something special, with its magic dial. But it's personal...

The black is perfect here.

For me, I was never a huge fan of the LV with the sunburst dial. I thought it was too flashy for me at the time - and I like black dials. When Rolex announced this one - I became super interested. I hope to see this and the LN in person, but I think I am going to go with the LV. Either way, both are amazing watches and I think each could fit in any collection.

X2

The Hulk sunburst dial turned me off right from the beginning. I've seen the LV in person and loved it.

Regardless some people love it, some hate it. It'll be hard to get anyways.

This reminds me of the comments made about the 126710BLRO early on. Everyone was complaining about the bezel colors, the jubilee, and so on....

6-12 months later as they became available, everyone loved them. AND... people wanted the “ugly pastel” colors of the first ones.

If the people commenting here don’t like them, don’t worry- your dealer won’t be calling you begging you to buy them. They will sell all day/year long, from now till the next LV is announced.

Very true.

It also reminds me of the comments about the original LV-C circa 10 or so years ago...not only no love on the forum, but you could get a decent discount for one from an AD. Ask me how I know.

That would be every new Rolex. The original LV was panned when it came out back in 2003 or whenever, everyone hated the D-blue DSSD was it was announced, the Hulk was disliked when it was new, and everyone hated the colors of the new ceramic BLRO. But just try getting any of those watches today, obviously somebody likes them.

Rolex fans just love to dislike anything new. And then they NEED to have it.

In the majority of pics, the the LV bezel appears to be a sort of muddy, milky green. Although it may be due to poor lighting, I can't put my name down for something I may pass on when it gets here.

But, the new Sub LN is growing on me.

If you like it, fine. Does nothing for me. I'm really a black bezel guy on the Sub.

I love all Subs...Of the new models I am really only interested in 124060 as that what will fit in with my collection the best right now.

I'm sure the new LV looks nice in person but I'm not buying into the hype. At least hulk had matching bezel and dial. Slapping a different color bezel on looks out of place.

I'd need to see it in person if I was thinking about getting one, but man that green is ugly. It just looks out of place.

I like the new 126610LV even much more than the Hulk because it’s not complete green so you can wear it much easier as a daily beater than the Hulk.
The Hulk you can wear sometimes and it has a beautiful dial, but as a daily beater it’s too much..
The new LV is much more rar and it’s not a waitress watch.. like other subs

Tried one on in July for the first time - pre discontinuation. Tudor AD had a trade-in section and had just received one - mint (looked unworn) condition. Liked the watch a lot before then, but trying it on it took me 30 seconds to turn attention to a 16570 (mint) they had as well.

My opinion of course, but Rolex should have done green sunburst dial with black bezel. I honestly think the new green one looks terrible.

Something similar happened to me.
The first time I saw a picture of the green one I said to myself ... it is so ugly!!

After seeing it in person everything changed.
Now I am waiting one

All of these pictures are great -they provide prospective - thanks! I am definitely going to try to get the LV. Maybe it's the lights in the store (Blackhorse's pictures) compared to natural environment but Hermann's picture really makes me like it. I have to say the green does look a little awkward under store lights.

Both the LN and LV are great looking watches, but I’d take the LN. Black bezel is the classic submariner. Black maintains that tool watch aesthetic. If I want different colored bezels, then I go to the GMTs (where the different colors originally had a purpose).

The 124060 may be my favorite, when you see it in person it looks great. I measured the case and if you measure across the bezel it is 41mm if you flip the watch over and just measure the case then it's 40mm.

I much prefer my Hulk, the sunburst dial is green but a lot of the time it looks black so you have both the Hulk & kermit in one watch.
