My Grandfather's 6332 Deepsea
Hi everyone!
New to the forum and Rolex. This is my grandfather’s Rolex that was passed to my father when he died, and to me earlier this year for my birthday. My dad isn’t a watch guy, so it has just been sitting in his closet since the 90s. One side has "Brevet +" with 6332 right below, and the other side has the serial no. 50XXX with a small "K.B." in square with a rounded top and a small 40 below. After posting in a couple other places, it looks like it's from 1954 and might be kind of rare. If there is any more information that anyone could give me about this watch I would really appreciate it. Also, if anyone has any idea of what the value might be, that would be really helpful as well. Values for 50s Rolexes seem to be all over the place from my Google searches. I would never sell it, but I would like to know if I should add a rider to my insurance for it. Thank you! |

The Rolex Reference 6332 was made in stainless steel with a gold electroplate finish. The link below has one with the "DEEPSEA" on the dial like yours (5th watch down from the top). Realized auction prices are listed.

No doubt. What a cool piece. We are also very lucky to have some people on this forum that really know their vintage stuff.

Neat watch! I wonder what the marketing language was at the time.

Awesome heirloom!
Assuming it hasn’t been serviced in a while, I’d find a watchmaker in your area who is comfortable working on it and have it serviced. Then, if the current band is in poor condition, swap it out and enjoy! If the current band is original, don’t throw it away! Wear in good health! |

Exactly. Full page spread, fully branded, airbrushed picture of the watch, travelog diction or board room? A vintage Deepsea in gold is so unexpected. Way cool. Definitely a companion piece for anyone who wears a James Cameron.
