Rolex Oyster Perpetual “Bijan”Yellow Dial or Bijan Dial nickname

I was just thinking about potential nick names for the new Oyster Perpetual dial colors, which were released by Rolex this year. Upon looking at the Yellow Oyster Perpetual dial, I could help but think it should be nicknamed the “Bijan” dial. This is due to the fact that the shade of yellowish orange that Rolex chose, is starkly reminiscent to Bijan’s legendary yellow.

For those of you who haven’t heard of Bijan, they are a bespoke tailor in LA, who are know for making ridiculously expansive cloths, and for their signature shade of yellow. They also are known to collaborate with auto makers, in order to create bespoke cars in their signature yellow color. Their most recognizable collaboration, is the Yellow Bugatti Veyron, which is known to sit outside of Bijan’s LA Boutique.

What are everyone’s though though on nicknaming the yellow Oyster Perpetual dial the “Bijan” dial ? Personally, I think it’s very fitting nickname for a dial that is in a majestic eye catching shade of yellow.

Like you said, nobody has heard of Bijan. No matter how many photos you put up of the shop, something nobody knows about is not going to catch on.

I was thinking Pikachu but you get my drift. I think that's why so many new nicknames are cartoon characters. Everyone knows them. Whether they are appropriate is another discussion entirely.

Excuse me?! Nobody has heard of Bijan?! Lol. Bijan is or at least once was the MOST EXPENSIVE male designer in the world. He is an absolute legend in LA.

May he RIP.

Here is a link with some education.

Eh, everyone's perspective is different. Have spent a ton of time in LA and still have never heard of him.

And that's fine... there are a bunch of things that I don't know about, and my wife often makes fun of me for being ignorant about some things that involve brands or artists or pop culture related matters.

But Bijan is a popular male designer who has dressed many presidents, royalty-- a designer and fragrance maker who is internationally known.

OP that's definitely a Bijan color dial. Have you seen his son's watch collection, the one that took over his business?

So we have Tiffany and Bijan in the OP selections

Rolex Oyster Perpetual “Bijan”Yellow Dial or Bijan Dial nickname

Lol - why do people try so hard to come up with this stuff? Is there some personal level of gratification if a nickname someone comes up with ends up getting used by the community? I don't get it

Whatever floats your boat, I guess

On topic & for the record - never heard of Bijan

I never heard of Bijan until Paul Manafort got popped by the feds and his shopping sprees there was used as evidence. I remember thinking at the time Paul isn’t exactly who I pictured as a Bijan customer.

Mango dial is about the only name I've seen for this one that I liked.

What's a Bijan anyways

I only read this thread to try and learn what the hell a Bijan is. It might catch on in LA, not sure about the rest of the world & the non-1% percenters. Tiffany Blue OP I get, Bijan Yellow I'll forget once I've finished writing this reply :)
