Scam!... robbed by someone hacking a TRF account

One more victim of a scam right here...

I wired money to someone who gave me references from users of TRF... and it was all fake. I guess hacking a few accounts and responding with feedback also from hacked accounts.

this are the accounts that gave me the feedback...

shame on me for wiring money to a nobody trying to save a couple thousand dollars compared to buying on Chrono24 or a real dealer...

So sorry this happened to you. The situation with hacked accounts makes it hard to know whether your dealing with a legit TRF seller or some hacking scam artist posted out in some foreign country.

Care to share a little more detail ? Who did what ? How do you know these accounts have been hacked ? Did you report this incident to the MOD ?

It doesn’t matter. DONT WIRE MONEY TO ANYONE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It’s freaking stupid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Even if it’s a trusted seller and it’s definitely him, if for some reason that dude drops dead before he ships your watch you’re screwed.

Only wire money to a brick and mortar shop.

That's such a bummer... So sorry to hear this. I've bought from all good private sellers in the last few years but I'll not be throwing caution to the wind or be wiring to anyone's personal accounts after hearing of these awful scams. I sure hope there's some way for you to recoup from that low life, if not, hopefully you makeup that money back soon.

Sorry that this has happened to you, you’re not giving us much information to go on. Was the person who scammed you a TRF member or was it from another forum using TRF accounts as references?
Who was the member who scammed you? (You were scammed, not “robbed”) we need more information to take action. How do you know that the other accounts were hacked? Did you actually contact the above references? Did you save the conversations?
Have you reported this crime to the police? This should have been properly to the moderators before you started the thread.
Please provide us with more information.

It would appear Cpcumming was dormant for many years and then suddenly made a few posts. Maybe hijacked on or before July 11th.?

Not as clear cut for Pirapan as that account appears to be a seller who only posts listings and references.

But I doubt any genuine members were involved -

So OP’s claim should be amended a bit on that score - and let’s see some routing information to avoid the scammers bank route.

I’m sorry to hear about this. Big reason why I am a fan of FaceTime and phone calls and video chatting. How someone wires thousands of dollars to someone after a few back and forth messages is something I still can’t understand. I hope you get some resolution

Yes, I got scammed also on here at TRF. It’s ridiculous how they can hacked into other people account and reply to your message to make a deal. hope you can get it back from the scum.
