Finally treated myself but left empty handed!

Hello all. So after a long time I finally decided to go today and scratch the itch as they say. I went to an AD this afternoon to view a pre owned PAM384, it’s the watch that has stuck in my mind over the years and when I popped it on I was sold. Haggled a bit, reached agreement and paid for the watch.
Prior to leaving with it on my wrist the salesman wound the watch up (it was fully discharged but had been serviced in 2019) and took it away for a quick clean. Seemed to be taking a while so I looked over and saw a bit of a commotion as the manager type was now tapping the case back and frantically turning the crown. Several minutes later the salesman brings over the watch and says the seconds hand is not working! Lo and behold it’s broken! He gives me the option to have the watch sent off for repair ASAP and ring me as soon as it is ready. Obviously I made them refund me straight away and walked out with a feeling of deflation. It has left a sour taste in my mouth, aesthetically the 384 does it for me, does the manual movement fill me with confidence though? I am unsure. What you guys think, stick with the 384 but buy another online or go automatic and maybe get the new 1661?
I also got to try on the 1616 today which was cool, bit pricey for me and also a tad ill fitting due to my wrist size (6.75 but rather flat), 384 and 44mm luminor were perfect though.

I'd get it. She'll come with free full factory service / service warranty. Sounds like a win to me.

I would have stuck with the purchase and let them service it for me.

Thanks, technically I still have my name to the watch so will get a call when it comes back. It had been serviced in July 2019. How long a service warranty do you get? Also just checking, would like to put a rubber strap on it, I need 26/22mm?

I agree, get a full service, not just a quick repair then you'll be all set for quite awhile.

My 233 had a full service in 2019 as it stopped working and only worn a few times since and then a week after the year warranty ran out it stopped again. I took it back to the boutique as they were going to take care of it and honour the warranty. A week later they called me and said it had just been magnetized. If you like the watch go for it and get them to give it a full service and will come back great.

If the watch works upon return and you still want it why not.
