I am not sure how the OF daytona fits in that comparison as it is much sportier, especially in WG (although beautiful!). I love that 5205 and that would be my pick of the remainder 3.

5205 by FAR!!!! but it is the most... I would shy away from the Code, or if you do decide to buy one, hopefully you get another AP in addition to it.

OP, If the wrist shot photos are all of your wrist then IMO the code looks by far the best on you.

Lange 1 or 1815 and Journe, esp the Octa range, would be my choices here.

Torn...but falling more in love with 1159 Blue

So, I order it yesterday! Pink gold with blue dial, time only! I was able to try one in the boutique, but it was already sold. 2-3weeks. Quote:

I think the design and the dial looks really nice. Not a fan of the font, and I don't get the swiss made straddling the 30. The openwork tourbillon looked amazing, then I saw the price. I thought the crystal effect looked pretty cool too when moving it. Judging by how the code wears, the 5524 as nice as it is would look like a pizza pan.
It's not gonna get a lot of love, but I think it's still very nice. |

Yeah I don't love the date window. Font is okay. The dial, case design, and gold tone is amazing! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Code was roundly booed (so was the Royal Oak) when they came out but I figured they would get legs under them given some time. I think in time we will look back and have a laugh at how everyone hated them. I know several collectors who have purchased them and couldn't be happier. If I wasn't absolutely addicted to Journe I'd probably buy one myself.

That is definitely the truth! Some of my collector buddies give me a hard time about owning one (in a fun, nice way). I personally love it more and more. I would be curious to see how these “early” pieces are seen in 5 or 10 years. Honestly, it is a fun watch to wear. As you know, I got a soft spot for Journe’s too and waiting for something incredibly special to come out - I mean Regency dial, violet ruby optimum or something bananas. Gosh, I can’t wait for his upcoming creations. In the meantime, I will be coding! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Torn...but falling more in love with 1159 Blue

I tend to agree with you in terms of being interested to see how we will look at this watch 10 years from now. It also reminds me of when i first got my Bulgari Octo Finissimo and everyone said it was a terrible idea; but i love it and in time it's really grown in popularity. I went watch shopping with three great friends when I checked out the Code 11:59 and a few other watches. My fellow watch geek friend loved it but had some pause and thought I should wait it out for the Daytona versus order the Code 11:59. However, he loved it too and said it was one of the best modern dress watches he has seen in a long time. The other two non watch geeks both immediately loved the Code 11:59 and said they preferred it over the Patek 5396 and 5205, and some others they saw with me. That surprised me, but was an interesting data point from non watch enthusiasts. I ultimately ordered the Code 11:59 because I really loved it and I wanted something different and beautiful. The in person details are stunning. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
