Which new OP for my wife? (2020 Models Picture Spam)
Happy Sunday folks,
Last month I had the pleasure of looking at the new 2020 releases at my local AD. I'd discussed with them that I wanted to get hold of an original BB58 on fabric strap for myself and a 36mm OP turquoise dial for my wife. (which looks stunning in person as per attached image.. spot my trusty 14060m next to it's younger brother 124060!) Fast forward 2 weeks and they'd managed to get the Black Bay in for me which I absolutely love. However, they've advised it may be 6 months to a year to get hold of the 36mm OP turquoise! They've suggested it would be much easier to get hold of a 34mm/36mm OP in the silver/black or blue dial colours. Having spent some time on the Rolex website I think that despite the new colours being lovely (and maybe just a touch 'hyped' up?!') the 34mm sunburst blue could be a beautiful, timeless choice. What're your thoughts guys? Hold out for the turquoise or consider a more classic dial? The 126618LB is absolutely wild in person. Hopefully this will be a grail piece for me a few years down the line.. fingers crossed! |

Congrats on the BB58!!!
Tough choice but could be simple enough if you’re basing it on size and if the 34mm suits better? I’d personally hold out for the Turquoise one as now seeing it in the flesh...I think it’s a stunning dial. I see you’ve got the WG Sub there also...this I can’t get wait to get my hands on and hopefully won’t be much longer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Hopefully won’t be long...came so close to buying one last week from another very good AD but it was already spoken for! But the AD that allowed me to see the “dummy” piece assures me that their first one in has my name on it! I’ve been really bad with “Incomings” recently but will try and do a few together as well in the coming weeks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

She likes the blue sunburst, which I also think is stunning, it's just hard to not be impressed with that bright turquoise! definitely leaning towards waiting it out I think.

Man, the new Sub really dwarfs the 5-digit there.

Better to wait for something that will be truly loved than to settle for something just because it’s available now.

To me the whole appeal of modern OPs is in the colorful dials. Either last gen (for example in OP39 gorgeous off-white white, glue with green accents, rhodium with blue accents and grape, not available in those combinations anywhere else) or in new gen the new beautiful colors only present in OP line. If I had to go for a blue or black, I'd just go DJ and call it a day. In fact, for a ladies watch I would look at new green dial DJ31. Looks great in photos.
