Which Would You Rather Have DD40/Daytona OF or Platona?

Tough one as recently I’ve recently acquired the Platona and LOVE IT!

In order for me..

1) Platona
2) Day Date
3) Daytona OF

But all these represent different uses and aren’t comparable (e.g. Platona has the weight but the OF has the comfort factor)

Are you looking to offload one/two?

I've made a decision which I won't say here in order to not influence the poll.

DD and Daytona, gives you nice versatility. Just my .02, I love the weight of the platona but the brown bezel just doesn't do it for me. Which Daytona OF? Love mine!

Platona, but not if I had to pay for it. For the money OF Daytona.

Keep you platinum Daytona 100 per cent mate you love it don’t know what you’re thinking here!

Sell the tt to find a daydate if necessary is my opinion.

Add a DD one way or another, but keep the Platona.

I would rather a DD40 + a WG/YG/RG Daytona than just a single Platona.

I vote platona.

The ice blue platinum daytona is truly special. Sometimes, a really spectacular piece like that is worth more than 2, 3, or 4 lesser watches combined.

Hard to say there’s a wrong answer. IMO 2 amazing watches > 1 amazing watch.

Hard decision. I always lean towards one bigger watch over multiple. But if I was buying in now, I’d take the two. But given you already have the Platona, no way I’d part with it. Not really possible to replace it very easily.

I’d consider other options like consolidating some of the rest of the collection into the OF YM or Daytona and keeping the platona.

Didn’t you go from like 20 watches to 1 or 2? Now you’re heading in the opposite direction? Lol. Whatever makes you happy!

The dd40 and PM OF Daytona is an outstanding combo! Hell of a one/two punch. Especially YG DD and WG Daytona.
I’ve gone every route possible to replace the PT Daytona with two PM pieces and they’ve stuck ...for a short time.
I think you know where I’m going here Lee :)
I’ve returned to the PT every time. I’m satisfied temporarily with replacements, but then seeing pics, hearing about others joy with the PT, remembering the weight, how special that ice blue dial was, etc....
I feel your temptation, but the only way I’d change is to go with the baguette dial. If it were me, knowing what I know now, I’d do everything I could to add a DD or other YG piece alongside the Platona. Whittle the collection down, keep saving, whatever....that’d be my thoughts on this one.
You do what makes you happy my man! I just know from experience what I’d do! As long as you’re happy with the decision you’ve made...that’s all that matters!

Only you can know Lee.

I’d honestly probably get bored of one watch, so I’d opt for the DD and Daytona as it gives you two very different watches to wear ... but that’s just me

It very depends on other watch(es) in your collection. IMHO each collection must have one OF model, one SS and one PM model. Plato - this is the next step, after performing the first step with this three watches.

If I recall your epic thread leading up to Platona, DD was a strong contender, so I completely understand your temptation.

It sounds like what you really need is a colored metal watch that acts as a palette cleanser for your Platona. For example maybe like a RG DD or RG GMT.

At this point, I think the Platona may be harder to replace so should be an add rather than replace situation.

No wrong answer here. But for me, the Platinum Daytona is the best Daytona and is harder to replace, and you already have it, so I would not let it go. I would add a DD. But I am not a big fan of the OF too.

I voted Playtona for the reason that if I already had one, I would very likely never let it go. It would be the grail to me.
