Very sharp case and correct finishing.

Well done for going to see it. No matter how many pics they send you, seeing the watch in flesh is the best option.

Full set.....I wouldn't care much about missing booklets. The. The condition of the watch is the main criteria....followed by papers/card.....box and booklets come last.

Of course, the price has to be right. But buying from a dealer, its always gonna be a higher price.
I personally would not pay 12k £.......thats 16k usd.
I know that UK market has higher prices BUT have a look at what 16k can get you in US or other countries.

it is a beautiful piece but also a little overpriced.

And, you've made a new contact in the Rolex world and will have access to the NEXT watch that you're looking for! And someone who can help you to change out a bezel (for example) on something you might find in the future.

Always make the purchase into something personal. You can "FEEL" when this is a shady deal. ("Trust the force, Luke!").
Overall, excellent advice!

Looks really good. I'm really tempted myself to pick one of these classics up myself

Looks great, either not polished or lightly done with careful hands
The crown on the clasp should help as well
I would buy it and prices have been creeping up in the $13k range so I think $12k is reasonable
