Anyone dealt with this person before?
Before I consider sending out $, wanted to see if anyone can vouch for Librandox.
Looking to purchase a watch from him, but doesnt seem to have a watch sale record on here, and the one that has a reference for is:https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=769124 - which seems like hes only come in, done a review and left the forum since October 2020. Also a few other references with gmail accounts. Just wondering if anything looks suspicious before I look at wiring options? |

No no no ! Please please Do Not send a box of 100 dollar bills (a wire) to someone you never even met please please.I don’t care if it’s the Pope! If you are comfortable with them , great ! Pay w AMX or if they say they don’t have merchant account. Fine PP it is ( and use AMX on PP for added protection) if they insist they can’t because of the cost - offer to pay half or if need be all. If they refuse, find another seller - not a problem! Under NO circumstances send a wire . You MUST protect yourself - if you don’t you will be back here whining about how you got taken . Wish you better than that . james in San Antonio Tx :-)

Gotta agree with James. I would prefer you using PayPal as a choice.

Not many sellers will take PayPal, that includes TD's. I think the only way they will accept pp is if your have a decent buying history with plenty of references.

WIRE is a four letter word around here.

Cmon really? If you have to ask, there’s likely an insufficient record. For those who transact a lot, and with reliability, you don’t have to ask because it’s abundantly clear from the various forums here. You check who’s who? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

You also have to take positive reviews with a grain of salt.
Anyone can make up and post reviews, or even have friends/family participate as made-up persons. Extreme diligence is required when dealing on-line with anyone, for any reason.

I've wired money to buy watches from many sellers here on the Forum.
Obviously, I've taken the time to review the seller, and if this is someone who's submitted thousands of posts. . . . then it's pretty obvious that they're well known in the "family", and probably NOT interested in losing that reputation to burn you on one watch. On the other hand, I virtually ALWAYS insist on at least a phone call with the seller, to just "feel out" the situation. I like to get that chance for a personal connection. The one time I made an exception to that (and it was from someone on Chrono24, not TRF), the guy "somehow", kept having "problems with my cell", and I finally just bought the item - - only to be burned for $2K. Learned my lesson - - - if it doesn't feel right, ... walk away!! All the being said, I'm planning on selling a few items here and there over the next few years, and I don't have "1000's of posts", either! So, I'd hope that you'd feel better with a phone call, getting to know me a little, seeing some immediate photos, etc, etc. The take home is - - don't rush. Make the pathway an enjoyable experience! And, PayPal with a "split of the costs" would be a nice compromise, and protect you a bit. Nothing wrong with that!

you cant just generalise and say no to wiring money. You will be ok if you do your research and there are no red flags. i dont see anything wrong with the OP asking. Yes, its risky if the seller is a new member or with no history and you're trying to save a few bucks. But not everyone here is a crook

Some of these comments abut using wires defy common sense. Virtually EVERY scam or even sellers innocent mistake who refuses or drags his feet correcting a problem can be avoided or remedied by not using a wire. If a seller is not willing to accept anything but wire transfer that’s enough of a “red flag” for me ! My simple answer is I will find another seller! The only exception I will and have made is a well known Patek or Rolex Ad. When AMX is used, I am completely protected! A simple phone call resolves all issues. I always stand amazed at all the longgg stories about how buyers really spent time “buying the seller” ha! And then got chingled- still we hear that chorus over and over encouraging people to take an unnecessary chance and send a box of hundred dollar bills to the seller hoping against hope that the seller is “honest” and the item will be as described. Of course there are many good honest sellers but I am not going to go to Las Vegas hoping there are no mis- understandings ( remember the seller who sold sealed pieces he wrapped in cellophane ?) oh I know , I will check him out real good and then I am fine giving him cash in advance $10,000 or lots more hoping I checked good enough. Are you out of your mind? Then someone wants to know why a wire is a four letter word?? Really?? Well you have been warned over and over again . If seller says he won’t do CC or Pp , not a problem I will find another seller - there are plenty! If you don’t want to listen to this wisdom great - be sure to send us a tale of woah about your mistake . Last thought , I defy anyone to find one case of a buyer getting taken, even because an honest seller and buyer misunderstood each other, that would never have happened had buyer used CC or Pp for payment. Just trying to help my friend on RF , don’t mean to offend anyone . Wish the best for all who read this. james in San Antonio Tx:-))

Sellers are allowed to protect themselves as are buyers.
This seller has been member for two years. And he is a pledge member of good standing until proven otherwise. I am sure the buyer could find a safe way to make this transaction happen. Due diligence is mandatory but don’t give up yet?
