I was just at a Ford dealership and saw a Cobra mustang on the floor with a sticker price of $99,000.00 and right under it in big blue print was Plus 49,999.00 Market Premium Grand Total $ 148,999.00. I think the dealer took the sticker and added that on and put it back on the windshield

I said well that’s a first for me. Asked the salesman if that was for real he said yes it was and they were selling for that price earlier in the year but I can buy it right now at list.

A good lesson to keep in mind when you’re itching to buy a watch at double or triple list.

Yes I agree.

The only thing that ADs can do is try and allocate the desirable models to customers who genuinely want those watches and will probably not flip, the operative word being "probably''.

When BMW Z8 was being introduced back in 2000, the bmw dealership near us in Mountain View CA had already sold the $129k car with a $200k markup ( total of $329k)

Similar situations with Honda S2000 ( not in that price range, but similar as in mark ups applying to the sticker ). Still takes place with popular models and/or popular configurations.

Reality of market driven capitalism. Buy low sell high.
