RG Daytona on OF

What are the members thoughts on trading a SS Pepsi and Hulk for a RG Daytona blk dial on OF? I would get money back on my end, leaning towards a yes.

How much money are you getting back? RG Daytona on OF are approaching mid-high 30s now.

Your SS Pepsi on trade is what? $15k?
Your Hulk on trade is what? $14k?

If your getting money back its not a bad trade in terms of $$$ value.

Pepsi and hulk is a killer combo. I would not do that. Keep and add the Daytona at retail $29,700 now or someday when the funds are there.

I really think you'll regret it in about 2-3 weeks.

I own all three of these watches (well YG Daytona on OF) and there痴 no way I would do it. You can always get the Daytona. Keep the Pepsi and Hulk buy a RG Daytona.

I would need to see it when it arrives at my AD before I make a decision, but I rather not have too many watches. But thanks for your opinion.

Mmm...if you still have other SS sport after the trade, I’d totally do it.

I’d much rather have any full gold Daytona than LVc and BLRO. But that’s just me

OK so you will get back around $3k which isnt a bad deal by any stretch. Your getting $3k back and if you wanted to sell the new Daytona if you don't bond with it you'll easily get $32k+ for it now.

I'd say go for it. Wearing a gold Rolex is just "different". Not sure how to say it but it just feels super super special. You will know the feeling when you get it.

If you can get a PM Daytona on OF good for you at MSRP. They are now allocated, and prices are going through the roof on the grey. Unfortunate as they are stunning in person.

Assuming you paid retail (or just not today's premium for the two pieces) I would 100% do this.

The Daytona on OF is a very versatile and under the radar piece, even for RG. I don't think you'll be unhappy with it unless you are someone who feeds into the hype of SS pieces. I know hulk will never be made again, but it's not a piece I personally love and the Pepsi can always be had again if you regret it.

When as soon as you see the gold its going to blow your mind away. I hope you don’t make a crazy decision there and then. These gold Daytona’s are so much easier to get than a Pepsi and as you know they don’t make the hulk anymore. I love my YG Daytona on OF. I wore it all day yesterday and probably will today. But we are talking about two SS models that are so hard to get that some people on this very forum would give up their first born to get one. So unless you literally have a dislike for them I once again advise you against this trade.

Yeah, I wont be making a on the spot decision as I want to think it over, but love the look of the RG Daytona. I would have the TT Chnr and SD43 left if I traded the Pepsi and Hulk. I purchased all at msrp.

I always ask my self is the sum of what I am trading for greater than what I am giving up. It is subjective but in this case the Pepsi and the Hulk are greater than the Daytona for me. Two great SS watches that offer versatility and options. I would pass on this deal. Good luck and let us know what you decide.

Knowing that, I would trade the SD43 and TT for the Daytona and keep the 40 mm steel pieces.

Thank you everyone for your thoughts and opinions. I’m going to try and block out the fact that the pepsi and hulk are hard to get watches and just focus on the watches themselves and see which side of the deal I like better. Money wise its close to even, as I will get some back to me. The pepsi is nice but i dont love it, the hulk i like more but I do think from the pictures I do love the RG Daytona more, but we’ll see!

If you got the BRLO and LV at MSRP, then I would be looking at it under the financial hat. Also, if you don't (really) like any watch in a collection I would move the unloved for something that I actually enjoy.

As always, these are our opinions and our subjective tastes, so go with what you want in the collection and what you are going to enjoy! Let us know what you decide.

I know I知 the minority on this, but I like the SD43 and TT chnr more than the Hulk and Pepsi. But i have thought about selling any two of the four I have, orginally, I was thinking Pepsi and RB but I want a gmt in my collection and RB is easier to get back if i wanted it again, but in the end the RB is currently my favorite and i like the fact that the card has my name on it. SD43 was my first rolex, love the size and would be my everyday watch over the other 3 i have.

Maybe float the Daytona for 30 days on credit before you make your decision and then pay off with the proceeds.

The outright sales price of your pieces are as good or better than trade in value. Get DavidSW or OCRolex to quote all 4.

Regardless of whether hype affected your decision to own hulk and Pepsi, it will affect your ability to reverse this transaction to the tune of a $5-6K hit.

Absolutely. But for the same reason you are recommending that I知 sure his AD would not do that trade. The OP would take a loss. Those two are not very desirable at least not compared to the Pepsi and hulk.
