So about two months ago my 5 digit Pepsi was running about +3 Spd. I put it away for about a month or two and tried it on again. After checking its accuracy it jumped up to about +7/+8 Spd. Not sure when the last time it was serviced, but I thought the jump was a bit sudden vs a gradual increase. Its been running this fast for about a month now as well. So I know time hasn't improved it either.

Just wondering if anyone had any thoughts as to what might be happening? Is it magnetized? Is it possibly due for service?

Wear it for a month it will go back to normal. Not magnetized

I'm a bit confused. It's all of a sudden running slow, but has increased to +7/8spd?

First it's doubtful its not magnetised as in general yes they do speed up but not just a few seconds,in general when this happens they run very erratic speed up by minutes or more and even stop and refuse to start.Many things affect mechanical watches on the wrist such as gravity,mainspring power-reserve,different temperatures,changes in lubrication,shocks on the wrist resting positions off wrist and so on.And even at +8 seconds your watch is still 99.92% accurate seeing there are 86400 seconds in a day.

Have a AD check the amplitude, I suspect it's low. That will make it run fast for awhile until it gets so low it starts to run slow. Lube is thickening or main spring weak, something in that order I suspect. Take it to a AD and they will revile the answer pretty quick I would say.

The timing is different because it's cold outside, and you aren't doing the same activities that you did before..

It could be slightly magnetised, I had the same problem a few month ago (all of a sudden accuracy increased from 1 sec a day to 10 sec a day, and it was not erratic).
Worth trying to demagnetised the watch before anything else... it is easy, quick, no need to open the case!
