I’ve only had mine for 4 mos but it’s mostly my daily wear now. Very balanced watch on the wrist and very comfortable, durable etc

Glad it worked out.

Yes I agree. My 70s 1500 perpetual means a lot to me because my pops gave it to me and he used to wear it. Who knows what's going to happen...I plan on being on this earth for at least a few decades so I may get the itch...

It ends well ,but this is not a happy ending for me .Too much unnecessary schlep here ...

This whole customer's experience is not acceptable by Rolex's high standards .

As for the poster ..Enjoy that watch now !

Most painful of all, it came back with dust and debris AND DAMAGE TO DIAL AND HANDS (the latter of which they replaced with new hands and dial and cleaned).

While the dial and hands were changed and rectified I was still left with a manhandled, molested, damaged watch, one which was away from me for about 9 months, opened up, parts replaced, damaged on day of purchase, somewhat dismissed, etc.

After pushing a bit and expressing how the experience was really bothering me, management agreed for a replacement of a brand new timepiece. I'm really pleased with them and thankful that they agreed to do the right thing.

The Con? honestly, I spent so much time stressing and with everything that has gone down, I'm a little traumatized so now I'm just going to keep this as a safe Queen. Somewhat unfortunate actually, but still a nice and happy ending.

Thanks everyone for their support and input during this journey.

Can’t blame you on the safe queen thing. Horrific experience but glad it worked out.

I wish you a quick recovery from Daytona-damage-trauma because you need to enjoy what you so much stressed for with peace of mind.

Thanks for the peace of mind! Got it back and I guess there were no issues. The rotor sounded loose to me, but was glad to learn that everything checked out. The watch was returned to me exactly as I dropped it off, so no harm done :)

Unfortunately there are issues with your replacement watch if it's the one pictured. The dial is upside down and the crown and pushers are on the wrong side of the watch but then again it may be worth more being such a rare configuration. Regardless, enjoy it in the best of health.

After all that and you're afraid to wear it? Yet, you dislike others from similar 'safe queen' tendencies? Do as you please but this doesn't make a whole lotta sense. But, what do I know, I wear watches for enjoyment and timekeeping. Good luck.

Read my post again, carefully, and it may make more sense to you. I never disliked others because of those tendencies I disliked the actual action, but I stated above that I began to appreciate it more and more, especially recently.

It makes perfect sense, I wore the watch every day and babied it and someone else messed it up and damaged it repeatedly, and I've become so hypersensitive to it that I just decided to keep it in the safe, this one watch, out of the many that I own. Thanks for your input. Stay healthy

I must know - who thought it was a good idea to throw the watch in an ultrasonic cleaner?

The watchmaker on-site, unfortunately. He thought it would be a good idea to throw a watch that was a couple of days old totally submerged into the ultrasonic because it had some paste on it when it could have been simply removed with soap and water.

Fun fact, when he was trying to "educate" me about the timekeeping, he said it has to be -2/+9 s/d. then when I attempted to correct him, he didn't even acknowledge it. The guy has many years of experience as a watchmaker believe it or not I guess you could be doing things wrong for many years.

That's awful. I tell certain engineers "your 20 years is more like 4 years of experience 5 times in a row."

It's random from watch to watch. Nothing to worry about. How aligned is your tach hand to 12?

Not too bad, a tad bit to the right unfortunately ....do you approve? You have to hit us back with yours

Also, although I do not mind, the actual tac bezel is a tad bit too far to the LEFT, I think... At least the last one I had and looking at others, they were a little bit more to the right. Lol!

Same. Half an increment (1/10th of a second) to the right. Bezel looks good to me.
