Yup that's the one Now, all we need is one of those "bike" things they had for racing around. Those pics are stunning Chip. Makes me want to buy a camera that takes decent macro shots. Thanks gang, first the Rolex, then the Panerai's( ahem Daren), then the car ( yes you Al ), now a camera , what is next NO SHEEP, NEVER, ( sorry JJ)

I only have fixed lens camera's.
I know, once you get a good camera body, the lenses are sure to follow. Sort of like the Panerais/Straps of the camera world.

Great shots as always, Chip!
I've just ordered a set of telephoto, wide-angle and macro lenses for my camera and they should arrive early next week. It's time to do some macro shooting!

Great set of pictures Chip!! Certainly with the set-up you have you get great depth of field so everything is in focus. My "cheater" method makes that quite impossible. I think an SLR is on my list......

All you do to get most of it in focus is shoot at really high f numbers. Like f22. And keep the shutter open forever. If you look at the second hand, you will see that I had it open at least five seconds.

Since Nikon remote controls are impossible to find, I use the self timer feature. So to answer your question Ed, yes.
At that kind of magnification, any shake in the camera will virtually ruin the image. I use a ten seconds timer, and that gives me plenty of time to get reflector cards in place etc. Also, to get those lume shots, this is what I do: I shoot with all the lights on, and during the 10 seconds timer wait I use an external flash to charge the lume really good. Half way throughout the shutter being open, I turn all the lights off.
