Do Folks Have Tips On Acquiring A Perpetual Calendar?
Hi friends! Hope everyone is having a great year. I've had my eyes on a 26574ST Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar, but haven't had any luck finding a boutique willing to take a deposit on it. I don't mind waiting for my turn in line if I could put a full deposit for one. I've chatted with my local boutique but the staff has been turning over often as of late and I haven't been able to find anyone interested in really getting to know me. I had a relationship with the boutique manager at the NYC boutique but she disappeared overnight about a year ago. I'd love an intro to a great SA who values watch collecting if anyone is interested in doing so (feel free to DM me). I already have a jumbo and some vintage AP that I bought on the secondary markets, so I'm not after the quintessential "hot" pieces. If anyone else has tips on how to navigate this space, that would be appreciated!

I could sorely be wrong, but I think based upon a huge absence of deliveries, may not be shipping anymore. (Or possibly movement being used for other more expensive or LE pieces now).
Good look to you. I've been hunting since late 2019, no luck. |

Good luck, and get in line
This piece has become unobtainable...I’m not sure if that’s by design, or if it’s being discontinued.

Disappointing to hear this. And it seems odd that they discontinued it right after a massive price increase.
That means there are currently no Perpetuals that are even in the realm of possibility for anyone that’s a mere mortal. And that’s a shame because AP Perpetuals are simply gorgeous. The Vacheron is becoming more appealing...

$100k. I traded messages with a dealer and I don’t even think they really had one, and they made it clear there was no discount off the ask.

I’m right there with you...I balked at $70k. In hindsight that was a poor decision I guess :-) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Was fortunate enough to get this beauty at retail right before the entire world shut down back in April.
It was all thanks to the good relationship with the brand as well as multiple boutique closing (temporarily) and canceled orders. I absolutely love that piece...it does get some considerable wrist time and I always come back to it! Haven’t heard anything official about it being discontinued, the grey prices are crazy as many said before it used to be listed barely over retail and now it is going thru the roof. Good luck with your quest, you never know. |

I was told that the QP is NOT discontinued, it's just that new models (CODE 11.59) and limited editions (e.g. Switzerland, China, Thailand) have hoovered up most of the QP movements, slowing the flow of regular 26574STs to a trickle. Makes some sense, depending on what the annual supply of cal. 5134 is.
