Tudor Black Bay Listed at $50,000... and it SOLD!

A Tudor Black Bay commissioned by Ed Sheehan for the crew of the Divide Tour (80 pieces) was recently listed for $50,000 by Delray Watch... and the piece sold in ONE day!

I believe another example sold six months ago for under $8,000. Now, that’s appreciation!

Lol. Come on. Just because it was marked sold doesn’t mean
1) it really sold or
2) it brought anywhere close to $50k

Are you accusing Delray Watch of intentionally listing it at an outrageous price, yanking the listing, and plotting to list it again with a fake comp of $50,000? Would a watch dealer do such a thing?

Really?
Things rarely sell for their listed price, especially this stuff.
He probably never owned the watch - likely on memo.
Name me another modern BB double signed that brought $50k.
A Heritage Black Bay ‘State of Qatar’ just sold for less than $10k.

When I first saw the listing. My mind read $4999 and even at that price I thought it was ambitious...no way this thing sells/sold for $50k.

It wouldn’t surprise me if this is true. I wouldn’t put it down to inflation, this sort of thing doesn’t have a price, it’s a moment-in-time thing. I bought one of David Beckhams football boots for £1k at a charity auction. On another day, with a wealthier crowd, it could have gone for £50k. Alternatively, on another day, it might have raised £100.

And people will say that £50k on an Ed Sheeran commissioned watch is nuts. But many of the same people would likely be ok with a Paul Newman Daytona (not one owned by him, or commissioned by him, just one like the one he wore) going for £50k. These are the same folk who would likely say that going grey and spending £20k on a new and superior Daytona is lunacy.

Also worth bearing in mind, that £50k to some people is like a fiver to many of us, so it’s all meaningless!
