For those who have the BLNR and BLRO...
For those of you who both the GMT II BLNR and the BLRO, do any of you prefer the BLNR over the BLRO?
I have the 116710BLNR and I absolutely adore it. I have acquired several watches since I purchased the BLNR a number of years ago and it's still my favorite watch. For example, I was fortunate to purchase the 126610LV recently. The 126610LV is incredibly comfortable and has become my near-daily watch... it always brings a huge smile whenever I wear it. I love Submariners and the splash of green. However, I always look forward to having the BLNR back on my wrist. I appreciate the hype and lengthy wait-list for the BLRO. The BLRO is gorgeous and I love the splash of colour that it has. As a kid, I even had an old Timex 'Pepsi' watch because of Magnum PI. However, if I'm ever fortunate to get the BLRO, I'm worried that it will sit on the shelf while I simply prefer to wear the BLNR...My question is for those who have the BLNR and the BLRO: Do any of you prefer wearing the BLNR over the BLRO? If so, why? |

It’s a hard choice. I have both, they are equally awesome pieces. With that said, I would go with BLRO by a hair.

BLNR is by far my favorite! Wears with anything, and looks good no matter the lighting. I always get hate for this here but the BLRO can look pink/purple in some lighting. If you have the itch for a BLRO, I’d look at a 16710...I saw one on someone the other day and that aluminum bezel was gorgeous. Good luck on your decision OP!

The bigger difference is the chunkier nature of your 116710blnr Batman compared to the slimmer refined lugs of the 126710 series

I'm loving my Blnr 116170. When it came to the Blro for some reason when I finally had a shot at one from my AD it just didn't do it for me once on the wrist. The pepsi itch continued though and I knew I was in for a 16710 when I tried one on at a watch meet. It took another year to find the right one for me, thanks again to my AD who took 'the one' in for me, an F serial no. that the they originally had sold new in 2005

I'm lucky to own them both. I have the BLNR on oyster.
I love the BLRO but the colors on the BLNR are just a bit more pleasing to me. I find myself reaching for it more than the BLRO. Just my humble opinion. |

I had the BLRO and the BLNR. I now only have the BLRO. Hope that answers the question.

I have both. I find myself wearing the BLNR more. I do prefer the oyster bracelet over the jubilee.

I had both but not at the same time. I much prefer the BLRO (it’s a keeper for me) to the BLNR.

This is a tough one... as others have said the red and blue bezel colors on the ceramic BLRO can appear much darker in person (see picture below). The BLNR is true blue/black. For me personally, the BLNR is a little more versatile and wins by a hair.

Have had the BLNR in oyster but wanted it in jubilee as all my other watches have oyster bracelets. I later added the BLRO. I wear the BLNR more due to versatility but love the BLRO. Both have a place in a collection.

I have a 116710BLNR and I recently turned down a 126710BLRO from an AD. The Jubilee works far better on the more vintage-inspired BLRO than on the later BLNR IMO, but the bezel colours on the BLRO are still too hit-and-miss for me. It's either pink and purple, or crimson and indigo depending on the luck of the draw (or which "mark" version you get).
Personally I much prefer the Oyster on the BLNR, and for me the colours of the bezel are perfect - proper blue and black. Plus (while it obviously doesn't affect how it wears) I also like the fact that the original BLNR was the first bi-colour ceramic Rolex ever made. Lastly I also trust the older 3186 movement far more as well, so for me it was an absolute no-brainer. 116710BLNR all day long. |

I have both the 116710BLNR and 126710BLRO - love them both.
As far as my collection goes I've never been a very daring guy in that I tend to buy simple, white or black toned watches; the BLNR was the first one that has color in it and I absolutely love it. I just think it's quite sporty, low-key yet elegant, very versatile piece that goes with any of my daily wardrobe. The BLRO is the most colorful Rolex I have and the only one with Jubilee bracelet. I absolutely love the bi-color bezel, the version I got has darker blue/red combo which I much prefer. I like how the blue reacts to different lightings. Paired with the Jubilee bracelet makes it a much more vibrant and refreshing piece for me. I really can't pick one over another, they are a perfect pair for me, I just choose depending on the mood I'm in for the day.

I have the root beer, want the Batman, I like the red on the Pepsi but can’t see myself wearing it much.

I have 4 GMTs (Rootbeer, Batman, Pepsi and Pepsi with Meteorite). I love all of them.
I think Meteorite looks the best, Rootbeer second, Batman and Pepsi are the same level. Batman is underrated.

Tough decision. Love them both! Aviation history of BLRO. Pleasing colors on the BLNR. Both have their own personality. I change my mind (and watches) daily.

I have both (and realise how lucky I am).
I prefer the BLNR for smarter occasions with a shirt for example. I prefer the BLRO for sportier occasions with a polo shirt for example.

With the BLRO, you have to like the shades of color used. That has always followed the BLRO since its release. The BLNR color (especially the blue) has been spot on since its introduction and was never a factor. Don’t let FOMO drive a BLRO purchase. You really need to see it and just know the colors are not a issue.

I had been wearing an oyster BLNR daily for over a year when my BLRO arrived. I waited a few weeks but knew almost immediately I would seldom wear the BLNR anymore so I sold it.
I try not to keep watches I don't wear, I'm a user not a collector. I just prefer the aesthetics of the BLRO and the Jubilee, YMMV. |

I am fortunate to have both, and they get about equal wear. My BLNR is on a brushed oyster with glidelock so which to wear depends on the band I prefer that day.

I have BLNR and love it. Thought about the BLRO but don’t want to buy one just to buy it cause it’s super hot. I think it might be redundant. So for now I added this little item to the BLNR to make a little more special.

BLNR all day every day. The blue is just sublime, and not washed out like the BLRO colors IMO
