DSSD 126660 help!
Hi all,
I’m on my third Deepsea ( black 116660; JC and now JC 126660 which I’ve had for 3 years) All have been comfortable up until 7 days ago. I decided to see what a tighter fit would feel like and adjusted the glide lock and now can’t seem to get back to the previous setting or comfort levels. I can’t quite understand why as there are only so many increments all of which have been experimented with numerous times. I decided to visit my AD today to remove the divers extension ( I’ve never felt the need to with my previous DSSDs ) but I thought I’d give it a try to see if that helped. It has centred the clasp somewhat and it looks better on the wrist but it’s still irritating my wrist by either being too tight or too loose. The watch is my daily and is worn 12 hours per day but right now I look forward to taking it off and putting my Apple Watch on! I guess my question is have others experienced similar issues? Other than the glide lock being moved could anything else have changed? |

That’s a strange one indeed. I used my glidelock pretty much every day, multiple times a day when I owned a DBlue.
Unless something has changed with your wrist itself, I can’t imagine what it would have changed. |

Thanks for your response. Even my AD was stumped.
I’m currently moving the glide lock back and forth as we type to see if anything feels right. I had hoped removing the divers extension would do the trick but no luck so far. |

Perhaps your wrist is different. Have you done any new exercises or weightlifting that might have hyperextended the wrist?? If your wrist has some inflammation in it, the DSSD might be enough to irritate it.

No. It was literally as daft as 7:25pm I’m wearing the watch comfortably and 15 minutes later after having played with the glide lock I’m struggling to get back to how it was. Appreciate it doesn’t make a lot of sense.

I did have some problems initially getting it just right. I think I had quite comfortable but then changed it and couldn't quite find the same comfort again. But after a few days I tried a looser setting and wore it slight further up the wrist and it's been comfortable ever since.
I'm fairly sure that you need to try each setting for a whole day, rather than just dismissing a setting immediately. |

Hey Sully, jokes aside, I had the same issue before. Just had to keep adjusting the glidelock to find the right fit. I was sure that even when I managed to get the glidelock to the same glide hole, it somehow did not feel like before. The initial adjustment sort of disrupted the wrist muscle memory. I left it and got used to it again after a day or 2.

The fit on my 126660 was different than on my 116660. The new case redesign probably has something to do with it. I realized first that my 12-Deepsea came with a half link so I had to play with that a few times to find the right setting but I finally did. You might look into maybe another half link from your AD. You said it was comfortable with the divers ext., if so I would probably return to that configuration instead of reinventing the wheel without it.
I never took off the divers extension because for me I feel more weight on the clasp balances the weight of the case, but even then the divers extension never bothered me and I liked the Deepsea with all its gadgets intact. One thing has been consistent with the three Deepseas I've owned, loose is definitely not good, and high over the wrist bone and tight or snug didn't work for me either. The happy medium was just a tad tighter than my regular Rolex watches like a Sub or GMT2, and the Deepsea's glidelock clasp was perfect for finding the perfect fit. When I sized mine I set it up with the clasp closer(a 1/3 of the way) to the closed position versus the middle or all the way out....if that makes sense. I found this gave me the most flexibility as just 2-3 clicks tighter would be too tight for normal days, meanwhile I had way more adjustments for loosening up. Finally I'll say that you might want to give it a break for a few days. I'm the type to never take my watches off and even sleep with it on but I've had days or times when the Deepsea bothered me....I either gave it a few days off or more often I would just right wrist it. When ever I went back to wearing it as normal, it would feel perfect again. One of my favorite aspects of the Deepsea is all that substantial heft, I love it, feels as close as I can get to a pm watch for now. Good luck. |

I find that it’s most comfortable full bracelet in its tightest position. If it’s warm I’ll move it around 2 clicks. Either way the 126 wears very comfortable

Also have a 126660 and the only comment I have is mine felt better with the diver extension removed.

As suggested, I think it’s going to be a case of experimenting over a period of time and maybe wearing other things is not a bad shout either. Maybe my perception of what’s comfortable has changed? First world problems eh?! |

I have the DSSD 116660 and find it very comfortable. I think the glidelock allows for the perfect fit and adjustment in varying weather etc.
Not sure what you are describing

On the SD43 I removed the divers extension and it helped with the fit. On the DSSD 12 JC I tried a lot of different bracelet adjustments and tried it with the divers extension out. In the end I put the divers extension back in and moved some links around from the 6 o'clock side to the 12 o'clock side and it worked well. Just experiment and see what works.

this was my initial thought thought. wrist size can increase with weight gain/loss and heat. i'm a weightlifter in my spare time and it causes me no end of problems with my watches, last year i spent about two grand on links just because my weight went up so much, now they've all had to come back off again

I guess the new professional jubilee bracelets are pretty small right out of the box, now that I think of it. Sent from my SM-G960W using Tapatalk |
