Ask any AD and they'll say the same. The only point of contention is this forum not understanding that demand is real. AD's have a hard time balancing new customers and pre-existing customers.

Rolex can make 1 million 126710BLRO, it still won’t be enough. There are billions of us. If a company like apple, which has the full force of China manufacturing behind them, is unable to meet demand, Rolex stands zero chance either.

Except I don't think that's what he's saying. It sounds like he's saying there are 75 apples, but they are being sold to 10-20 people, who are in turn selling those in-demand apples to apple resellers, which is where the other 80-90 people have to turn to get their apples.

A few years ago I bought a steel sub and a an explorer 2 from the AD , both were sitting on the shelf. There was no demand a few years ago? People discovered Rolex in the last 2-3 years? Let me tell you something: Artificial shortage!

Although I see your line of reasoning I think that the speculative demand on Rolexes as investments really spiked after the Paul Newman Daytona sold for $17M.

I think that there are now a ton of people who are buying Rolex Sport models because they think of it as a way to either wear for "free" for a couple years or even make money. This is in contrast to people who would buy a Rolex with no regard for the resale value because they wanted to own it for all time.
