Sorry I'm not wearing a 10k watch in a cave period. For everyday use Ceramic is nicer IMHO. Rolex doesn't make tool watches anymore. Its exp jewelry thats hard to get.

Exactly. Literally greater than 99% think like that. There are a few that will say, “I’ll wear a $10k watch in a cave,” but it’s a small # of people on this forum.

Promo watches may not easily translate to immediate production. But building a few promo watches is certainly good for promotion of the brand.

So the whole r&d department, the board and marketing spend millions in developing watches and then at the last minute decide they’re gonna quickly pull the plug and try something else, someone quickly mocked up a new design in their dinner break because they read on TRF that forumites didn’t agree with imagined releases.

Not every Rolex owner is a forum member I’m sure the number 1 most valuable luxury brand in the world knows what they’re doing. Even if they make a small mistake it’s not going to sink because a certain release hasn’t resonated with forumites

Reduce your new novelties and focus on upping production too reduce demand/shortage of your sports watches. I predict look out grey sellers, your days of gouging may be numbered. Time will tell.

Yeah, I’m gonna have to go with “loosen the tinfoil”. I’m glad they didn’t screw with the Explorer II because that’s the Rolex that I want the most out of their entire lineup.

This. Yeah, Rolex changed the lineup like on Monday?

Exactly my thoughts, production likely has been running for quite some time to prepare for the initial shipping, so Rolex has to dismantle all the finished goods and swap the bezels/hands/dial, etc...If this is how Rolex operates then we should avoid their products.

How is this "fishy"?

A company went through a research and design phase. Developed various ideas. Went through the feedback process (internal and external) and then made final product decisions for launch.

This watch spent a lot of time on my wrist in Afghanistan. Worse than a cave in a lot of ways yet it performed very well. You should reconsider for all Rolex models, particularly the Exp II.
