The movement swap is not a cost-saving measure. Since it is still a new movement they use the ones that come back to evaluate their quality Control. It's a way to investigate issues with the movement and track trends so they can improve the manufacturing.

You are correct in that they will eventually switch to repairing the movement.

Hey Bill, sorry missed you comment initially. I know what you mean about a bracelet but $17K is already crazy for a Tudor, can you imagine a $25K+ Tudor with a gold bracelet? I'm not saying the price is out of line for a gold watch, but I am saying it's out of line for Tudor. Yikes!

Love the watch but I just can't see too many people laying down this kind of money for a gold 58. I really think the depreciation will be rough on this model.
