A SD 16600 was my first as well and I really do regret selling it....for you guessed it a Deepsea. I really miss it.

I still have it. And it's my favorite.
An early 90s sub.

When I bought my first BNIB in 2009, I declined a 16600 - didn’t even try it on - and picked up a 14060m instead.
Sold the 14060m in fall 2019 and I remain glad it went to a new home...if I had bought the 16600 instead, I might still have it, since I own and love that reference now. No regrets on selling my first tho. |

No regrets. Purchased the 114060 and just didn’t like the maxi case. So sold it back to my AD and purchased the SD4K. Wore that for a few years and eventually moved
that on prior to it being discontinued. Missed out on the appreciation so that is a regret. However, I recently picked up an excellent cond 2008 16600 Seadweller with full kit incl the Rolex tool and 4000 meter anchor from my AD - they had taken it on a trade-in. So I got back the SD and at least in my eyes the perfect SD. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Bought my first Rolex in 2004 as a young and dumb 24 year old. A 16264 thunderbird datejust. Ran into some financial trouble about a year later(as most 24 year olds do) and had to sell it. Man I miss that watch. Own a new submariner and a GMT now but still think about getting a new steel datejust for nostalgic reasons.

Bought 16600 2 years ago, great watch. Should have bought it 9 years ago, much cheaper. OP, Prices are not crazy yet.

sold my first rolex, a 14060, because it bored me, .and recently bought a same year 16600: I like the 1660 so much more. it's quite possibly the best classic everyday modern diver. so many little details that are more interesting than a standard sub.
