Sub Date 126610LV vs GMT 126710BLRO

Hope everyone is keeping well.

Quick question. While this decision will ultimately be my own and preference is of course subjective, I’m looking to hear the thoughts of others if faced with a decision between the Sub Date 126610 LV and the GMT 126710 BLRO (likely on oyster bracelet), two watches which I really like.

The purchase would be made on the grey market, but that discussion has been done to death so let’s just deal the watch choice as opposed to purchasing route.

For completeness, I already own a Sub 114060 and GMT 116710 BLNR. I know people will say why would you want effectively the same watch again but I simply just love the aesthetic and functionality of these references and diversity is not my key aim!

Thanks!

blro for sure, better history, more colour variations, and more bracelet options.

BLRO for me. Never been a fan of the LV, but that's just my own opinion, many people here like it.

For me its a Sub date 126610LN (BLACK) The green is a bit awkward sometimes with matching up.

(Yes I know it was not on your list).

Not a fan of the green, however I would also point out that the GMT bezel can act as a chronograph, just like the submariner bezel do. So in effect, GMT master can do everything a submariner can, complication-wise.

Thanks for the responses.

I think the determining factor for me will be getting a chance to try on the 41mm Sub in the flesh. Will hopefully do that in the near future at a grey dealer.

I have both and if I had to choose one this is how I would decide. Everyday use I would do the LV, if you are an office worker or go out a lot than the BLRO for sure. Both great watches that fit and wear totally different. Hope that helps.

I would go with the BLRO on Jubilee in your situation. You have 2 watches with oyster bands and there is something special about the Jubilee.

BLRO on Oyster .How it should be .Jubilee is a fantastic bracelet ,but its a DJ Bracelet .

(I own the 124060,116610LN,116710BLNR and 126610LV amongst others ..but not the 126710BLRO,waiting forever on that one .. Too bad )

So,between the choices presented :
126710BLRO Oyster over 126610LV ,by a very narrow margin .

The best would be the WG BLRO Meteorite .Have seen it in the metal, beautiful ,beautiful reference !!

For the old GMT Masters with 120 click (16760 to 16710) this is true. However, the 6 digits (116710 and up) have a 24 “click” ball bearing bezel which would not allow you to position reliably/accurately and use it as a timer.

126710BLRO, simply because not a fan at all of the green on 126610LV. If you had said 126710BLRO or 126610LN, then I'd say 126610LN.

BLRO is more of a classic Rolex to me over the Sub LV Hulk which seems to green to me.

Grab the BLRO on Jubilee and buy 1.8mm spring bars so that you can swap bracelets between all 3: BLRO on glidelock, BLNR on Jubilee, BLRO on your BLNR easy link bracelet, etc.

Get what you love. But since your asking... I'd get something different than what you already have.
